The average life expectancy for a quality heat pump is 15 to 20 years. You will need to service a heat pump annually like you would a boiler to maintain the efficiency and maximise the life expectancy.
It’s a good idea to wash the machine down a few times a year with a cloth/sponge and water to help remove salt and ammonia this will help reduce corrosion. This is especially worthwhile if you live on or near the coast or in rural area.
